Errores al Comprar tu Primer Fotomatón (y Cómo Evitarlos)

Mistakes When Buying Your First Photo Booth (and How to Avoid Them)

We sell photo booths, and we will still say it straight: some first-time purchases start off wrong. These are the mistakes we have seen most often (and dealt with in support), and how to sidestep each one.

1. Buying on price alone

The cheapest booth on a generic marketplace usually means a flimsy platform, a motor that struggles with three adults, and zero after-sales support. The difference of a few hundred euros evaporates at the first failed event. Compare what each price includes: warranty, support in your language, spare parts, and software.

2. Ignoring the warranty and after-sales

A photo booth works weekends, holidays, and once-in-a-lifetime weddings. When it fails (anything that spins fails at some point), the question is who fixes it and how fast. Our booths include a warranty of up to 3 years and real support; ask the same of any seller you compare.

3. Picking a size without checking your calendar

The big platform looks impressive on a website and gets in the way in the car. If your events are couples and small groups, an 80 cm platform does the same job while costing and weighing less; the guide to how many people fit per platform gives you the honest equivalence.

4. Not asking about the software (and its fees)

Some booths require a monthly subscription for basic functions. That recurring cost eats your margin every month, forever. Always ask what the included software covers and how much the rest costs. In our 360 apps guide you get the full picture, with no subscription options.

5. Forgetting the kit around the booth

The booth alone does not make the event: you need lighting, props, transport and, if you sell printed photos, a printer and paper. Budget the full kit from the start so you do not discover a gap after the purchase.

6. Buying with no plan for the first client

The silent mistake: booths sit on a shelf for six months because no one thought about how to fill the calendar. Before you buy, be clear about your first channel (friends' weddings, a venue with events, local social media). The complete roadmap to start the business is written and free.

Frequently asked questions

New or refurbished to start?

If budget is tight, a refurbished unit, fully checked, with warranty is an excellent entry point; what does not pay off is a used booth from a private seller with no inspection or warranty.

How much should a serious first booth cost?

From 1,640 € VAT included for refurbished, and from around 3,000 € for new professional equipment. Below that, read point 1 twice.

And if I still get it wrong?

Professional booths have a lively secondhand market: a size mistake can be fixed by selling and swapping. A quality mistake, on the other hand, is not wanted even in the secondhand market, which is why point 1 comes first.

Take your time to compare all formats and VAT included prices in the catalog, and ask us anything at hello@photobooth360store.com: we would rather sell you the right booth than sell to you today.
