Frequently Asked Questions About Photo Paper for Photo Booths

What type of photo paper is recommended for photo booths?
We recommend using DNP thermal paper, designed specifically for professional photo booth printers. It delivers rich colors, instant drying, and superior durability with no need for liquid inks.
Is DNP paper compatible with all photo booth printers?
Yes. DNP paper is fully compatible with the DS620 and QW410 models, the most widely used in the industry. It also works with printers that use similar thermal technology.
What paper size is typically used?
The most common format is 10×15 cm, ideal for event photo booths. There are also 13×18 cm formats or 5×15 cm strips depending on the printer and the desired print type.
How many prints can I make with a roll of DNP paper?
A standard DNP DS620 roll allows you to print up to 800 photos 10×15 cm, while QW410 paper offers about 300 prints per box.
Is the paper ready to use?
Yes, each box includes the photo paper and the thermal ribbon roll ready to install. You only need to insert them in your DNP printer and start printing.
Is special maintenance required for the printer?
No, you only need to clean the thermal print head from time to time with a special wipe. This helps maintain consistent print quality and extends the lifespan of the equipment.
Can I use this paper with printers other than DNP?
In most cases yes, as long as the printer uses the same thermal printing system and format. However, we recommend confirming compatibility before purchasing.
What is the difference between DNP DS620 paper and QW410?
The DS620 is ideal for high print volume (up to 800 photos), while the QW410 is more compact and portable, designed for small events or 360 photo booths.
Does the paper have an expiration date?
Thermal media does not expire like a perishable, but it does age badly in the wrong place. Keep the boxes closed, upright and away from damp, heat and direct sunlight, and use the oldest ones first. Stored dry and cool, a box you bought for last season prints exactly the same as one opened today.
